This book introduces a new class of design patterns: the Elemental Design Patterns (EDPs). These form a foundation for the study - and more importantly - effective application of software engineering design patterns. While their basis is in research, the EDPs are designed to be extremely practical and pragmatic. The content is intended for both beginning programmers and seasoned developers. By using the EDPs set forth in this book, the readers have a new set of tools at their disposal, a richer understanding of the basic concepts of programming that are used every day, and knowledge of how EDPs relate and interact with each other to do amazing things.
