Data generation for regulatory decision making, particularly for risk assessment purposes, has become both complicated and expensive. Data are often generated by different submitters, using different protocols and methodology, which makes regulatory decision making difficult. One approach to addressing these problems is for the regulated community to collaborate to generate a common dataset. This work highlights the formation, operation, and data submission of task forces along with the use of the submitted data by regulators evaluating individual products. Scientists and regulators assessing risks will find this work helpful.
